ABBOT'S BICKINGTON

"ABBOT'S BICKINGTON, a parish in the hundred of Great Torrington, in the county of Devon. It is situated on the river Torridge, 6 miles to the N.E. of Holsworthy, and was formerly a cell to Hartland Abbey. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Exeter, value £93, in the patronage of the trustees of Lord Rolle. The church is dedicated to St. James.
