This is the last Will and Testament of me John Escott of Bampton in the County of Devon, Gentleman, as follows. I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Escott her heirs executors administrators and assigns all and singular my freehold and leasehold estates and all other my property of whatever nature or description the same may be to and for her and their own sole use and benefit after paying thereon my funeral and testamentary expenses. And I hereby make constitute and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Escott whole and sole Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this to be my true last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have to this my Will written one side of a sheet of paper set my hand and affixed my Seal this twenty ninth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight. Revised Sealed Published and declared by the above Testator John Escott as for and to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have thereunto set our names as Witnesses thereto.

Proved at London the 13th Feby. 1849 before the Judge by the oath of Elizabeth Escott, Widow, the Relict the sole executrix to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn by Comm duly to administer.
