This is the Last Will and Testament of me Robert Henry Farrant
of Bampton in the County of Devon, Gentleman. I give to my brother
John the sum of twenty five pounds sterling and to my mother
Elizabeth Farrant the sum of ten Guineas. I give to my brother
Samuel my wearing apparel and to my sister Eleanor all my printed
books and [.....] wherever the same may be. I give to my said
sister Eleanor and brother [.....] all my plate, trinkets and
jewelry in equal shares, and as to all the rest, residue and
remainder of my property, estate and effects of what nature and
source and whether real or personal and wheresoever situate I give,
devise and bequeath the same to my sisters Charlotte and Eleanor
and my brother Samuel, their respective heirs, executors and
administrators, in equal shares and proportions as tenants in
common, and I do declare that the share of my said residual estate
herein before given to my said sister Charlotte shall be received
held [.....] and disposed of by her my said sister Charlotte as her
separate property free from the debts, control and engagements of
her present or any future husband, and that her receipt alone
notwithstanding her coverture shall be a good and sufficient
discharge to my Executors for the same. And lastly I do appoint my
said sister Eleanor and my said brother Samuel Executrix and
Executor of this my will hereby revoking all former wills by me
made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty
fourth day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty

Signed by the said Robert Henry Farrant, the Testator, in the joint
presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the
presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

Proved at London 15th April 1848 before the Worshipful Frederick
Thomas Pratt, Dr. of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Samuel
Farrant testator, brother, one of the Executors to whom Admon was
granted having been first sworn duly to administer. Process
reserved of making the like grant to Eleanor Farrant, Spinster, the
sister, the other Executor when she shall apply for the same.
