This is the Last Will and Testament of me William Hawkins of the
Parish of Bampton in the County of Devon, Yeoman, made the 13th day
of February one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven. First I
give unto my sons Edward Hawkins, William Hawkins and Benjamin
Hawkins the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great
Britain to each of them to be paid as they or either of them get
married or attain the age of twenty one years should they so
survive, but should any or either of them of my said sons happen to
die before such legacy becomes due then such legacy to be equally
divided between the survivors or their issues lawfully begotten for
payment of such legacy or legacies if required shall be at the
discretion of my trusts hereinafter named. I give unto my daughter
Mary Palmer the sum of sixty pounds with a deduction out of it what
she has already received. I give unto my daughters Anna Hawkins,
Sarah Hawkins and Elizabeth Hawkins the sum of sixty pounds each to
be paid as in the former manner of my sons and if any or either of
my said daughters should happen to die before the legacy or
legacies becomes payable then such legacy or legacies to be equally
divided between the survivors or their issues lawfully begotten for
payment of such legacies if required shall be at the discretion of
my trusts hereinafter named. All the rest, residue and remainder of
my Goods, Chattels, ready monies, rights and credits which I may be
interested in or entitled unto at the time of my decease after
payment of my just debts, legacies, funeral expenses and proving
this my will I give the whole and every part thereof unto Elizabeth
Hawkins, my beloved wife, provided she remains a widow and not
otherwise and in case she gets married then such property to be at
the disposal of my trusts hereinafter named or one of them to be
equally divided between them my then surviving children or their
issues lawfully begotten, and further my Will is that my said
children except such as are married or gets married do reside
together during the term which I hold in the estate I now rent and
if any dispute or disputes should arise or happen in my family such
dispute or dispute to be finally settled by my said trusts or one
of them hereinafter named. Also my Will is that my said trusts to
be consulted in all affairs relating to the management of the
business without any lawsuit or trouble, and I do hereby appoint
Elizabeth Hawkins my wife Exor in trust of this my Will hereby
desiring and appointing my brother James Hawkins and my nephew
Edward Rogers Stone Yeoman both of the Parish of Bampton trusts of
this my Will, and I will that my said trusts shall not be
answerable for more monies than shall actually have come to his or
their hands, nor one for the other, except through his or their
willful neglect and to reimburse themselves all reasonable expenses
they may incur in the execution of this my Will. In witness hereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said William Hawkins,
the Testator, as and for to be his Last Will and Testament in the
presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the
presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

Elizabeth Hawkins, widow, the relict, the sole Executrix to whom
Admon was granted having been first sworn by Commission duly to
administer.
