Monumental Heraldry in the Parish Church of St. Peter's, Barnstaple

by

Rev. Sloane Sloane-Evans

Barnstaple (1892)

Index prepared by Jonathan Frayne

The names below are an index to an appendix to the book "Memorials of St Peter's Church Barnstaple" and appear as an appendix headed Monumental Heraldry and is written by Rev. Sloane Sloane-Evans. "Memorials" is written by J. R. Chanter and he notes that the positions of the monuments have changed and also that there are errors (but these appear to relate to the heraldry which was the principle purpose of the original work by Rev. Sloane-Evans). The monuments and inscriptions relate to those inside the church at the time (c.1882). I have grouped them here. Full transcriptions can be made (without the heraldry descriptions unless really wanted!)
