BISHOP'S NYMPTON

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"BISHOP'S NYMPTON, a parish in the hundred of Witheridge, in the county of Devon, 3 miles to the S.E. of South Molton, its post town. It lies in a pleasant Lilly country, to the south of the river Yee, and contains abundance of limestone. The living is a vicarage* in the diocese of Exeter, of the value of £296, in the patronage of the bishop. Cattle fairs are held here on the 14th April and the 29th October."
