BURRINGTON

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"BURRINGTON, a parish in the hundred of North Tawton with Winkley, in the county of Devon, 8 miles to the S.W. of South Molton. Chulmleigh is its post town. It lies near the river Taw and the North Devon railway. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Exeter, worth £276, in the gift of the Rev. J. Buckingham, incumbent. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. There are some charitable bequests for the poor, producing about £3 a year."
