CHURSTON-FERRERS

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"CHURSTON-FERRERS, a parish in the hundred of Haytor, in the county of Devon, 7 miles S.E. of Totnes, and 1½ W. of Brixham, its post town. It is situated near the river Dart; and the Torquay branch of the South Devon railway, which has a station at Brixham Road. The living is a perpetual curacy annexed to the vicarage* of Brixham, in the diocese of Exeter, in the patronage of the crown. The church is an ancient edifice. The Independents have a place of worship, and there is a parochial school. The charities produce about £6 per annum."
