COMBPYNE

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"COMBPYNE, a parish in the hundred of Axminster, in the county of Devon, 3½ miles S. of Axminster, its post town and railway station on the South-Western line, and 4 from Lyme Regis. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter, value £127, in the patronage of Messrs. Knight, Cuff; and Edwards. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is an ancient edifice, possessing a chalice anterior to the Reformation. H. Knight, Esq., is lord of the manor."
