In the Name of God Amen, I, Nicholas Shepheard, of Cornewood, in
the County of Devon, yeoman, although sick in body yet perfect in
mind, thanks be to God, do make and ordain this my last will and
testament in manner and form following.
First I give and bequeath my soule to Jesus Christ my Saviour and
Redeemer and my body to the Christian burial. Then I give to the
poore of the Parish of Cornewood tenn shillings.
Then I give and bequeath to my Daughter Barbarah Shepheard
twenty-five pounds to be paid her within five full months after my
decease.
Then I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary twenty-five pounds to
be paid her within two years after my decease.
Then I give to my Daughter Orrnidge twenty-five pounds to be paid
her within three years after my decease.
Then I give and bequeath to my sonn Nicholas Shepheard Tenn Pounds
to be paid him when he shalle of the age of twenty-one years. After
I give and bequeath unto him my loomes and slays and all thinge
thereto belonging. After I give and bequeath to him all that house
with the court lodge thereto belonging wheron John Barret lately
deied did dwell in after the decease of my wife during his natural
life and alsoe the giving of a pegg in the combe payeing yearly
therefore unto his brother John Shepheard his heirs or Assigns the
sume of foure shillings.
Then I give and bequeath unto Sampson Shepheard my third sonn
twelve pounds to be paid him when he shalle of the age of
twenty-one years.
Then I give and bequeath unto Thomas Shepheard my fourth sonn
twelve pounds to paid him when he shalle of the age of twenty-one
years.
Then I give and bequeath unto William Shepheard my fifth sonn
twelve pounds to be paid hi when he shalle of the age of twenty-one
years.
Then I give and bequeath to my sonn John Shepheard all my land.
All the rest of my goods and chattels not given nor bequeathed I
give and bequeath to Margarett Shepheard my wife and John Shepheard
my sonne and they I make and ordain to be my whole and sole
executors jointly and severally of this my last will &
testament and to See this my last will and testament to be
performed in all things according to my intent and meaning.
In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale upon this
one and twentyeth Day of September in the year of our Lord God one
thousand six hundred fifty and seaven.

Sealed and subscrived in the presence of William Hannaford the
signe of John Bastin.
This Will was proved at London before the Judge for probate of
wills and granting Ad(?) lawfully authorized the fifth day of
December in the year of our Lord one thousand sex hundred fify
seaven by the path of Margarett Shepheard and John Shepheard the
Relict and sonne joynt executors named in the said will, to whom
Administration was Committed they being first by Comission sworne
truley to Adminsteror.
