DALWWOD

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"DALWOOD, a chapelry in the parish of Stockland, liberty of Fordington, in the Dorchester division of the county of Devon, 3½ miles N.W. of Axminster. It is situated on the river Cory, and until recently formed part of the county of Dorset. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Exeter, annexed to the vicarage of Stockland. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. A fair for cattle is held on the Wednesday after the 24th August. "
