Incredibly, given its date of publication, a still quite useful compendium of the names and grouping of the Devon Hundreds, boroughs and incorporated towns of the county, as well as its parishes, townships and extra-parochial places. Of particular interest is the alphabetic list of parishes with information on their peculiar ecclesiastical affiliations, with a great deal of information on their incumbents. This rare and much sought-after book was produced digitally from a copy in the Bodleian Library collection and can be downloaded from Google Books. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
