This is a miscellany about parts of north and south Devon, particular the Lundy Island and Torquay areas. The author claims that it is "a book of pen-pictures of associated scenes, and kindred things that have occurred in them". The whole (says the author)" may be likened to a handful of sketches taken at random from an artist's portfolio".
