GENUKI/Devon, and the Plymouth and West Devon RO

MISCELLANEOUS MINOR SOURCES

These sources are classed as minor solely because we have found only a limited number of wills, etc., in each of them. The majority of these sources are from various published journals and books. These are available in the Westcountry Studies Library and/or large reference and genealogical libraries, or via an inter-library loan scheme. If you need help identifying a library near you that holds a particular book or set of journals you are interested in, try an online catalogue such as COPAC and WorldCat. Be warned however, that library catalogues do not always provide full details of which issues of a given journal they hold, so checking is in order. With unpublished works we indicate where these are to be found - where appropriate using the abbreviations CRO (Cornwall Record Office), DRO (Devon Record Office) DCRS (the Devon & Cornwall Record Society collection at the Westcountry Studies Library, Exeter), DFHS (Devon Family History Society) FHL (LDS Family History Library), LMA (London Metropolitan Archives), NDA (North Devon Athenaeum), NDRO (North Devon Record Office) SHC (Somerset Heritage Centre), SOG (Society of Genealogists) and WSL (Westcountry Studies Library).

The main other type of "minor" source listed here are catalogues of record offices and archives that we have determined have some (limited) Devon-related holdings. (A systematic search has been attempted of the online catalogues, and/or the relevant sections of the A2A union catalogue, of all the main county record offices.)

Needless to say we cannot be sure of the completeness of our searches, so would appreciate being informed of any other sources where Devon wills, etc., have been found, and of any will transcripts or abstracts in the minor sources listed below that we have not as yet been able to access and check.
