EAST ANSTEY

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"EAST ANSTEY, a parish in the hundred of South Molton, in the county of Devon, 10 miles to the E. of South Molton. Dulverton is the post town. It is pleasantly situated, on the borders of Somersetshire, near the source of the river Yeo, and at the foot of Anstey Hill, a lofty eminence on the north of the village. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Exeter, value £180, in the patronage of T. S. Jessopp, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Michael.

"DUNSLEY, a hamlet in the parish of East Anstey, and Tiverton division of the county of Devon, 5 miles W.S.W. of Dulverton."
