FARWAY

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"FARWAY, a parish in the hundred of Colyton, county Devon, 3 miles S. of Honiton, its post town, and 4 N.E. of Ottery St. Mary. The village is small and wholly agricultural. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Exeter, value £247. The church is an old stone edifice, and bears traces of a Norman origin. There are charities of about £9 per annum. Netherton Hall is the principal residence. There is a school with a small endowment. The Rev. H. Marker is lord of the manor."
