LUFFINCOTT

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"LUFFINCOTT, a parish in the hundred of Black Torrington, county Devon, 5 miles S. of Holsworthy, and 7 N. of Launceston, its post town. It is situated on the banks of the river Tamar, and the Bude canal passes through the parish. There is no village, only a few farmhouses. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter, value £67. The church is a small edifice dedicated to St. James. Henry Blagrave, Esq., is lord of the manor."
