In the of God Amen I David Hill of Linton in the County of Devon Yeoman being in perfect Health of Body of perfect Mind and Memory, thanks be given unto God, calling unto Mind the Mortaility of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament: that is to say) principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the Hand of Almighty God that gave it: and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christain Burial At the Discretion of my Executrix: Nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God and as touching such worldly Estate where with it has pleased God to bless me with in this Life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner
And form -
First I give unto George Geen and his Wife Agness that new erected
Dwelling House adoining to Richard Garmans House during their
natural Life and after their Decess to their Son Thomas and his
Heirs after him Also I give bequeath to my Daughter Mary Keal all
that Plot of Ground lying on the wester side of William Vellacotts
Dwelling House together with the wester side of the Court adoining
to her own proper Use: Also I give to my Son David one Shilling.
Also I give to my Son Robert one Shilling Also to my Son William
one Shilling Also to my Daughter Jenefred one Shilling Also to my
Daughter Elizabeth one Shilling. Also I give to my Daughter Rebecah
Ward whome I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole Executrix
of this my last Will and Testament all and Singular the rest of my
Money and Goods together with the Dwelling House I now live in
Outhouses Orchard and Gardens by her freely to be possessed and
enjoyed: And I do hereby disallow revoke and dis[..] all and every
other former Testaments, Wills, Legacies Bequest and Executors by
me in any wise before name willed and bequeathed ratifying and
confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.
In Witness whereof I have here unto set my Hand and Seal this ninth Day of July, In the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred
Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the said David Hill as his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who in his Presence and the Presence of each other have hereto subscribe our Names

Peregrine Ilbert Clerk Master of Arts Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry of Barnstaple lawfully constituted do by these Presents make known unto all Men That on the Thirtieth day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and two at Barnstaple before the Reverend Henry Nicholls Clerk our Surrogate lawfully appointed the last will and testament of David Hill late of Linton in the County of Devon and archdeaconry aforesaid yeoman deceased was introduced proved and approved of and that administration of all and singular the good chattels and credits of the said deceased was granted unto Rebecca War Daughter of the said deceased and sole Executrix in the said will named she having been first lawfully sworn well and faithfully to administer the same (saving to every one his Right). In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our Seal of Office the day and year above written.
