Samuel Hieron (1576-1617), puritan divine, was the son of Roger Hieron, originally a schoolmaster, who became vicar of Epping in Essex in 1578. He was taught by his father and admitted to Eton in 1590. From there he passed to King's College, Cambridge. Sir Henry Savile, provost of Eton, conferred a pastoral charge on him, that he vacated for the living of Modbury' (in the gift of Eton College), held till his death in 1617. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the University of Michigan Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
