BISHOP MORCHARD

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"BISHOP MORCHARD, a parish in the hundred of Crediton, in the county of Devon, 7 miles to the N.W. of Crediton. At Morchard Road is a station of the North Devon and Exeter and Crediton branches of the South-Western railway. The river Taw runs near the village. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Exeter, of the value of £633, in the patronage of R. H. Tuckfield, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
