WEST BUCKLAND

[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)]

"WEST BUCKLAND, a parish in the hundred of Braunton, in the county of Devon, 6 miles to the N.W. of South Melton, its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter, of the value of £194, in the gift of J. F. Basset, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter, and contains a fine screen, richly carved in arabesque. Buckland House is the chief residence.
